Woman’s Club: Quilt Raffle to Benefit OC Charities

The Woman’s Club of Orange County held its monthly meeting Thursday, Jan. 12, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Andrea Johnson of Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy and Fitness Center served as guest speaker for the event.

Johnson has 24 years of combined experience as a physical therapist in Germany and as a certified personal trainer since 2010. With her skills, she helps members and clients reach their health and wellness goals. Johnson is the fitness director at Ivy Rehab’s Orange location and gave a presentation about exercise for seniors.

In other news, raffle tickets are on sale for the club’s annual fundraising drive. This year’s grand prize is a blue quilt with hand-pieced friendship stars, which was quilted by a club member. The second prize is a quilted throw and the third prize is a quilted table runner.

Proceeds from the raffle benefit Orange County charities and a scholarship for a young woman graduating in 2023. Tickets are $1 and are available to the public. The drawing will take place Thursday, March 9, and entrants do not have to be present to win. Contact Vickie Morris at vmorris@verizon.net for more information.

New members are always welcome. Each meeting features a guest speaker from Orange County, followed by a short business meeting and refreshments. Those interested in becoming a member can contact Dorothy Cluff at cluffd@verizon.net for more information.
