Gallery: 2023 Liberty Mills Fall Farm Festival

Family fun was the prevailing theme at Liberty Mills Farm’s annual Fall Farm Festival last Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 30 to Oct. 1, in Somerset. Visitors enjoyed hayrides, homemade fudge and ice cream, a children’s play area and shopping from local craft vendors.

Meanwhile, attendees scoured the pick-your-own pumpkin patch for just the right gourd, from small decorative varieties to giants weighing a hundred pounds or more, and almost every color in the rainbow. Festivalgoers in search of a challenge visited the 34-acre corn maze with four different activity levels, including a music trivia challenge and a storybook maze for children.

For Liberty Mills employee Kelly Sankey, the fall festival is more than just a fun time — it’s a piece of nostalgia she holds dear to her heart, and the event that sparked her own connection to the farm. While visiting the corn maze with her husband, Sankey fell in love with the farm and bonded with the owners, Kent and Evie Woods, leading to her current position.

“We always joke that I visited the farm on a date and never left,” Sankey said.

If you missed last weekend’s festival, it’s not too late to join the fall fun at Liberty Mills. The corn maze will remain open through Nov. 11, and pick-your-own pumpkins will be available while supplies last.
